The Museo del Corso officially opens its new exhibition season, launching a completely renewed program and a series of cultural initiatives designed to offer visitors an even richer and more engaging experience. This project brings together research, heritage enhancement, and new forms of cultural expression, reaffirming the Museum as one of the key cultural landmarks in the heart of Rome.
At the centre of this new phase is the Permanent Collection, presented in an updated form both in content and exhibition design. The renewed layout allows visitors to rediscover works and themes through a broader and more contemporary perspective, offering new tools for understanding the artistic and historical evolution of the city.
Alongside the Permanent Collection, a major exhibition is dedicated to Carlo Maratti, the leading painter of 17th-century Rome and a key figure of Baroque classicism. The exhibition aims to restore the central importance of his role, bringing together key works and archival materials that testify to the profound influence the artist had on his contemporaries and on later generations.
A significant novelty of the season is also the opening of the Historical Archive, presented through the project De arte pingendi: a journey through documents, testimonies, and previously unseen materials related to the history of the Museum and the protagonists of Roman art. Added to this is a unique opportunity: for the first time, the public will be able to access the Caveau of Palazzo Cipolla, a space previously closed to visitors and now made accessible, enriching the museum experience with a privileged view into areas usually off-limits.
To accompany visitors in discovering these new contents, the Museum offers a wide range of visiting options:
– Guided visits with audio guide, allowing independent exploration of the content and itineraries.
– Guided tours with art historians, designed for those seeking in-depth insights and direct dialogue with experts.
The new season is therefore an invitation to discover, explore, and be surprised by a museum that is renewing itself and opening up, offering new opportunities for knowledge and exchange.
The new season has officially begun.
The Museo del Corso looks forward to welcoming you and sharing this new chapter together.
